No Excuses

As I sat here on the couch tonight, I actually Googled "exercise motivation." I had The Kid over 9 months ago. I lost the weight. I even fit into my pre-baby clothing , but as anyone who has had a child can tell you, your body just isn't the same.

I USED to jog regularly. I USED to lift weights regularly. I DON'T anymore.

At first I had the nice excuse. You're not allowed to exercise for 6 whole weeks after giving birth. Not that you want to with the getting up in the middle of the night and adjusting to breast feeding and "healing" after what your beautiful little baby did to your lady parts.

After that, the excuses got a little less valid.

"The baby woke up at 2 am."

"I just got back to sleep"

"The baby woke up at 3 am"

"The Hubby and I need to spend some QT together."

"The baby woke up at 4 am"

You get the picture. So I think it's time that I put away all the excuses and got my post-baby-butt in gear. I don't have a gym buddy so I don't have anyone to meet at the gym. That would be the best motivator. There's a whole accountability factor with the gym buddy method.

As I sat on the couch tonight, I tried to think of another way to make myself accountable. It had to be some sort of public declaration. So I decided to start a blog. Unlike my last attempt, I think I need to broadcast it to all my friends so that I'll be embarrassed if I don't make it to the gym because I have to tell everyone I didn't go.

So here it is. I start on Saturday.
